My oldest, Bear, turned 3 years old yesterday.
In an effort to buck up, we mutually decided that it was time to move past her crutch on binks aka "teet tees"
I read somewhere on a blog about a genius way of [-]bribing[/-] [-]coercing[/-] [-]tricking[/-] getting rid of pacifiers; have the child buy some toys with them!!!
DING DING DING!
*if you've recently blogged about these struggles please leave a link in the comments & i'll give you proper credit :D*
there were just a small glitch in this plan.
i forgot to bring her stash of binks to Target with us
no biggie, right? we talked about the deal as we paced the aisles at Target, we agreed that once home, the binks would be gone because she was going to buy a unicorn with them
*Thanks Heather for spotting her!
here is what transpired at bed time
Bear: crying in bed
Me: "whats wrong"
Bear: now serious crying
Me: "baby, what is it?"
Bear: "i don't wanna be free (three) any more Mom"
Me: "why. Three is great!"
Bear: more crying "noooooo.
I not a big girl. I not ready to give up my teet tees. I still wittle" more tears, serious crying
Me: "i know you're little. but i think you are ready. look you're even sleeping in your own bed"
Bear: "i dont wanna sweep in my own bed. i wanna be two. i wanna sweep wiff you and have a teet tee. i not ready to be freeeeee" tears again, wailing
i gave her her bink back
she broke my heart
maybe st Christmas she'll give them to Santa
