I can't find our downstairs house phone.
It's cordless.
It's missing.
I tried calling it, you know, so I could locate it.
Some woman answered.
I was very confused, so I stammered "sorry wrong number" and hung up.
I made sure I dialed the correct numbers.
Which i had - 252-333-xxxx
Then I called my husband
"Babe. What is our home number?"
"757-333-xxxx"
"are you sure?"
"yeah, why?"
"no reason."
we've lived here for a year.
For the past year, I've been telling/writing my home phone number as
252-333-xxxx
no wonder no one ever calls the house line.
Now I need to call this woman back.
And apologize for her having to deal with "wrong numbers" for the past year.
And ask her to please direct people to dial 757 instead of 252 if they want to speak with me.
